Jena R. Skrosky, MCMSc, PA-C, a Barry University PA alumna and volunteer with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), was featured for her dedication and contributions to the physician assistant profession. Skrosky’s journey reflects the impact Barry graduates continue to make through service, leadership, and clinical excellence.
She is currently practicing in urgent care at Bon Secours Mercy Hospital where she brings the same level of dedication to her clinical work as she does to her volunteer efforts.
“The PA profession offered the perfect balance between meaningful patient connection, advanced medical practice, and lifelong learning,” Skrosky said. She added that the role allows her to combine her passion for science with the ability to advocate for and support patients during some of their most challenging moments.
In addition to her clinical role, she serves as an affiliate faculty member and student preceptor at Shenandoah University and as a contracted medical examiner for two counties in Virginia.
Her involvement with the NCCPA began after discovering volunteer opportunities on their website. Since then, she has contributed to several initiatives, including PANCE forms review, key validation, and item writing for both PANRE and PANRE-LA.
