Barry University alumna and adjunct faculty member in the Department of Communication, Tiffani Knowles, will speak at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago on August 14, 2026, leading a session on building an intentional personal brand through social media.
Titled “Main Character Energy: The Art of Personal Branding on Social Media,” the session will bring together scholars and young professionals to explore how social media can help build credibility, establish a professional identity and strengthen a personal brand.

Knowles is an inaugural recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship and was invited to pitch a breakout session for scholars and young professionals. Her session will highlight the importance of intentionally building a name and presence on social media to strengthen credibility as corporate and community leaders.
As an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Communication at Barry University, Knowles reflects the active engagement of Barry faculty in their fields. Faculty bring current professional experiences, industry connections and real-world perspectives into the classroom while continuing to contribute to their professions.
For Knowles, that work includes exploring how intentional self-branding on social media can help individuals establish a professional presence and build credibility.
