When the spring semester ended, one MBA project at Barry University was just getting started.
As part of Tarik Safouan’s MBA AI Strategy course, students partnered with Nurturio, an AI-powered emotional wellness platform for children. Their goal was to develop ideas that could enhance the platform while creating meaningful experiences for both the client and the children it serves.
Throughout the semester, students researched user needs, designed a Figma prototype, and explored new ways artificial intelligence could strengthen the platform. Rather than ending with a final presentation, the project continued through the DX Lab at the AI Center at Barry University.
Safouan shared that one of the most rewarding parts of this experience for the students has been seeing the Nurturio team embrace and incorporate many of the features they developed into the platform. Knowing that their work is helping shape a product that continues to evolve has reinforced the value of their contributions.
Reflecting on the project’s success, Safouan shared:
“Our goal is for students to graduate with more than knowledge. We want them to graduate having developed solutions that organizations actually use. When a client continues implementing ideas developed in class, that’s one of the strongest indicators that experiential learning is working.”
The continued success of the project is thanks to the work of students Britney Mapang, Jhanille S., and Martin Lundorff Rasmussen, as well as the partnership and trust of the Nurturio team. As development continues, the collaboration stands as an example of how Barry students are helping shape AI solutions that extend well beyond the classroom.
