Dr. Edgar Sy has once again been recognized as North Miami Beach’s Best Podiatrist of 2026 after first receiving the distinction in 2024. Dr. Sy is a proud Barry alum and serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. He continues to make an impact through his work with patients and future podiatric physicians, as well as research and speaking engagements at state and national conferences.

As a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon at the university’s Foot and Ankle Institute, Dr. Sy brings his clinical experience into the classroom and operating room. He also mentors students through research projects that have led to poster presentations at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Annual Scientific Conference and the Florida Podiatric Medical Association’s Scientific and Annual Meeting (SAM). These opportunities allow students to present their findings to fellow professionals and gain experience contributing to research in their field.

Outside his work at Barry, Dr. Sy recently joined the Florida Podiatric Medical Association’s Communications Committee, where he looks forward to supporting the profession.
