Barry University’s Community Food Pantry, located on the second floor of Thompson Hall in room 228, plays a key role in supporting students and faculty by providing free food and personal care items. The pantry is open to everyone on campus, not solely those in financial need, and operates in partnership with Feeding South Florida and Good Samaritans (Trader Joe’s) for food donations.

The Food Pantry Coordinator, Anyah Charlotin, emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about its availability and hours of operation. “The most important thing that students should know are our hours and that we’re free—they don’t have to pay for anything,” she stated.

The pantry operates on a donation-based system, ensuring a constantly evolving inventory. “Everything we get is donated; we don’t purchase anything. There’s no stock left over, and everything changes weekly,” Anyah explained. The donated items include fresh produce, hygiene products, snacks, drinks, canned goods, bread, and miscellaneous supplies.

In addition to providing free food and personal care items, the pantry accommodates various needs, offering items such as pet treats. The Food Pantry is in Thompson Hall, room 228, and is open on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students are required to present their Corq app QR code and numerical code upon visiting.
