Faith Olasanoye’s journey is a testament to her resilience, purpose, and unwavering desire to help others. She was born and raised in Rhode Island and graduated from Rhode Island College in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Barry University, where she continues to make a meaningful impact through her academic and professional endeavors.

Over the summer, Faith gained invaluable experience during her practicum as an intern for the Barry CHAMPS-CROP program, where she developed her skills and passion for counseling. Today, she works as a trauma facilitator at the Trauma Resolution Center and provides counseling services weekly at the CARE Center. These roles allow Faith to engage with individuals facing challenging circumstances, offering guidance and support through their healing journeys. Faith envisions a future where she serves individuals and families in diverse clinical settings, including communities, psychiatric hospitals, and health centers. Her goal is to provide a safe space for clients—ranging from children and adolescents to couples and families—to confront and overcome mental and physical struggles. She believes in empowering her clients with the tools and skills needed to cope with challenges and discover solutions.

Faith’s education has equipped her with a well-rounded understanding of counseling techniques. In her Introduction to Counseling course, she had the opportunity to interview a therapist who owns a private practice. This experience was eye-opening, as it introduced her to the psychodynamic approach and the biopsychosocial model. The therapist’s holistic method of addressing medical, psychosocial, and environmental factors inspired Faith to think critically about how to tailor her approach to each client’s unique needs. One of Faith’s standout academic projects was creating an advocacy plan for adults with undiagnosed ADHD. Recognizing the challenges of misdiagnosis and limited access to affordable assessments, Faith’s plan focused on increasing accessibility to ADHD testing and encouraging follow-up treatment. This initiative reflects her deep commitment to advocacy and her understanding of how systemic issues impact mental health care.

Faith’s vision for the future is as ambitious as it is inspiring. After earning her degree, she hopes to open her private practice, providing therapeutic services to individuals and families. Guided by her passion for helping others, Faith aims to support her clients in uncovering the root causes of their challenges and equipping them with the tools to thrive. Her journey as a counselor, advocate, and future private practitioner embodies the values of empathy, empowerment, and dedication.
