
Dr. Sussman: Pioneering Research and Promoting Policy Dialogue at the Forefront of Global Antisemitism and Democracy Studies
Dr. Stephen Sussman, a distinguished figure in the field of Public Administration at the Andreas School of Business and Public Administration, has marked several significant achievements in his career recently.
In the fall of 2023, Dr. Sussman was honored with the title of Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), a prestigious two-year appointment. ISGAP stands out for its interdisciplinary approach to the academic study of antisemitism, serving as a global research center committed to exploring and addressing the intricacies of antisemitism.
Moreover, Dr. Sussman is a pioneering force behind the Palm Beach Center for Democracy and Policy Research, where he serves as co-founder and co-president. This center emerges as a nonpartisan public policy organization, research center, and think tank. It brings together scholars, experts, and community stakeholders to foster research and dialogue, aiming to generate practical policy recommendations to address current local, national, and international challenges.
His engagement with the academic community extends further as he holds the position of Fellow and Chair of the Interest Group for Faculty in the Southeast for the Academic Engagement Network (2023-2024). The Academic Engagement Network is an independent nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., dedicated to combating antisemitism and promoting academic freedom across university campuses.
Additionally, Dr. Sussman plays a crucial role at the Tzahar-Palm Beach Research Center for Judaism-Based Social Science (JBSS), located at the Zefat Academic College in Zefat, Israel. Here, he contributes as co-director and a member of the Executive Committee, as well as serving as the co-editor of the JBSS journal.
In the summer of 2022, his academic journey took him to Zefat Academic College in Zefat, Israel, where he enriched the minds of students as a visiting scholar teaching a course on U.S. Public Policymaking. This experience highlights Dr. Sussman’s dedication to fostering educational exchanges and contributing to the academic discourse on public policy on an international scale.
