Barry in the News: Right of Passage Ceremony – Class of 2025

Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine celebrated the hard-earned achievements of the Class of 2025 at the Rite of Passage ceremony held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Barry University’s Shepard and Ruth K. Broad Center for the Performing Arts. This was an incredible milestone signifying not only their dedication and hard work but also their commitment to the noble profession they have chosen.
A reception was held in Thompson Hall alongside family, friends, faculty, and staff.

Student Doctor Ismael Grau, Class of 2025 President, was honored as the 2023-2024 Dr. Harvey Kopelman Award Recipient. This award was established by the Florida Podiatric Medical Society (FPMS) and Mrs. Audrey Kopelman, in memory of Dr. Kopelman, former Florida Podiatric Medical Association (FPMA) President, who dedicated 50+ years in furthering the reputation and well-being of the podiatric profession. Mr. Grau was selected by the scholarship committee to receive a $1,000 scholarship, as he displayed Dr. Kopelman’s leadership qualities and shown dedication to his future profession.

Student Doctor Sydni Sears who was honored as the recipient of the PICA/BUSPM full tuition scholarship presented by: Dr. Robert Snyder, Dean, Dr. Ross E. Taubman, President & Chief Medical Officer for PICA and Dr. Luke D. Cicchinelli, Chief Medical Director and President Elect for PICA.

Student Doctor Valentina Clinton was the recipient of the APMA/PICA full tuition scholarship presented by: Dr. Robert Snyder, Dean, Dr. Ross E. Taubman, President & Chief Medical Officer for PICA and Dr. Luke D. Cicchinelli, Chief Medical Director and President Elect for PICA.
