Barry University being Dr. Stewart’s alma mater, holds a special place for him. Many of his educators that he considers mentors, are also now his colleagues, and they still hold the same appreciation to seeing Dr. Stewart grow as a professional. What Dr. Stewart really appreciates is the amount of diversity that BUSPM has in specialties throughout the faculty, whether it be wound care, research, sports medicine, trauma, complex elective, or reconstructive surgeries, and so on. When Dr. Stewart thinks of BUSPM, he thinks of one of his favorite quotes, by Isaac Newton, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants”. You can really look to build on your own interests by getting closer to our faculty, drawing on their experience, and using that to cultivate your own path in this field.
