AmeriCorps CEO Engages with Miami VISTA Members to Strengthen Community and Youth Development
Michael Smith’s roundtable with local volunteers, including those from Barry University, focuses on enhancing volunteerism and leadership to address society’s challenges.
AmeriCorps CEO, Michael Smith hosted a roundtable in Miami on February 20, 2024 to meet with local VISTA members. Barry University currently hosts two VISTA members that support the Food Pantry and Barry Urban Garden. AmeriCorps’ mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. Anyah Charlotin, Mia Hunt, Gabriel Bouani, and Dr. Paula Dias participated in the dialogue, which focused on strengthening youth development, creating high impact opportunities for volunteerism in our local communities, and cultivating the next generation of leaders that connect universities with local communities and organizations to tackle the toughest challenges in our society.
