Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law was proudly represented at the Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition (NTC), competing in the Southeastern Region (Region 6) in Atlanta. The competition was hosted by the University of Georgia School of Law and Georgia State University College of Law and brought together 22 law schools from across Florida and Georgia.
Barry Law sent two outstanding teams to compete. Team 410: Zackary Blackburn, Hannah Lynde, and Campbell Gobler and Team 411: Diana Calderon, Valentina Sayago, and Nicolas Ronckovitz. Team 411 advanced all the way to the final round, narrowly missing a bid to nationals in Texas this April by a 2-1 ballot decision. Their performance was a true testament to their preparation, skill, and resilience in the courtroom.
Special thanks were given to their dedicated coaches, Justin Gutterman, Cameron Bullock and Trial Team coach Judge Michael Kraynick, who are alumni and former Trial Team competitors.
Seven newly selected Trial Team 1Ls also gained invaluable hands-on experience serving as witnesses throughout the competition and observing the final round, an exceptional learning opportunity early in their legal careers.
The School of Law is proud of its students for representing the institution with professionalism, excellence, and integrity. To learn more about Barry University Trial Team, click here.
