In a recent episode of The Dean’s Chat, hosted by Dr. Jeffrey Jensen and Dr. Johanna Richey, Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine Dean, Dr. Madelin Ramil, shared her experience since stepping into the role in September 2025. Dr. Ramil is a proud Barry alumna and reflected on how her experiences as a podiatrist, educator, and leader have shaped her vision for the school.
During the conversation, she emphasized how important it is for her to stay connected with students whether that’s listening to their perspectives, understanding their experiences, or ensuring their voices help guide the future of podiatric medical education at Barry.
Dr. Ramil has over 25 years of practice and brings a wealth of clinical, surgical, and academic expertise to the role. Her career has included residency training in South Florida, fellowship experiences in Spain and Italy, leadership in residency education, and extensive work in wound care and foot and ankle surgery.
From mentoring residents to speaking nationally and internationally, Dr. Ramil’s passion for education and patient care continues to guide her leadership at Barry.
