Barry University’s CARE Center serves as a vital mental health and wellness resource for the community, offering high-quality and affordable services designed to meet individuals and families where they are. As a community-based mental health clinic, the CARE Center is committed to enhancing well-being through compassionate care, professional training, and a strong focus on accessibility. Whether someone is seeking support for personal challenges, relationship concerns, or academic and behavioral needs, the CARE Center provides a welcoming space for growth, healing, and understanding.

Counseling services at the CARE Center are focused on helping clients recognize and build upon their existing strengths and resources. Services include individual counseling, family counseling, couples and marriage counseling, and group counseling based on community need and availability. Counseling is provided by advanced graduate students pursuing Master’s or Doctoral degrees in Counseling who work as part of clinical treatment teams. These students are closely supervised by licensed mental health professionals, ensuring that clients receive thoughtful, ethical, and evidence-based care while also supporting the next generation of mental health practitioners.

In addition to counseling, the CARE Center offers comprehensive psychoeducational assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults who may be experiencing academic, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Assessments are also conducted by advanced graduate students in School Psychology under the direct supervision of licensed psychologists or by contracted licensed school psychologists. Each assessment includes a clinical interview, review of relevant records, testing sessions using established measurement tools, and consultation with parents, educators, or other professionals when appropriate.

Beyond direct services, the CARE Center is deeply invested in research and education that benefit the broader community. Through collaborative research partnerships, the Center promotes the common good and works toward a more humane and just society. Educational offerings such as workshops and trainings provide opportunities for individuals, educators, and professionals to expand their knowledge and skills related to mental health and wellness.

Together, these efforts reflect the CARE Center’s mission to support individuals and families while making high-quality mental health care more accessible and affordable for the diverse community it serves.
