Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine (BUSPM) has long stood as a leader in podiatric education combining clinical training, community engagement, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Students train in modern clinics and rotate through a diverse network of hospitals, gaining real-world experience treating everything from complex diabetic foot disease to athletic injuries. The School’s mission is to graduate compassionate, competent doctors of podiatric medicine who are ready for residency and to advance patient care in their communities.
This fall, the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) voted to extend BUSPM’s accreditation for the maximum period of eight years. This full-term extension is the Council’s recognition that Barry’s program meets CPME’s standards for educational quality, institutional support, and continuous improvement. Beyond initial professional training, BUSPM is also an approved provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine.
In addition to those achievements, BUSPM began an exciting new chapter with the appointment of Dr. Madelin Ramil as its new dean. Known for her dedication to student success and her passion for advancing podiatric medicine, Dr. Ramil steps into the role with a clear commitment to strengthening academic rigor, innovation, and caliber of graduates while also fostering a learning environment that enriches the student experience.
