After years of dedicated collaboration, a long-awaited research article validating the Social-Emotional Health Survey–Secondary (SEHS-S) has been published, marking a significant milestone in international school psychology and positive education research.
The study, co-authored by Silvia Albertova, Assistant Professor and Program Director of the School Psychology Program at Barry University, represents the culmination of her longstanding international partnership with Pan-European University (Slovakia) and the School Mental Health Collaborative at the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA).
The study provides cross-cultural validation evidence for the SEHS-S, a widely used measure of adolescents’ psychological strengths and positive mental health. This achievement reflects a continued commitment to building an international evidence base for positive psychology and school mental health.
The research contributes to the growing body of international literature promoting covitality as a strengths-based framework for understanding youth development and well-being in educational settings.
Dr. Albertova’s involvement highlights how Barry University faculty are actively engaged in advancing their fields, bringing a wealth of professional experience and current research insights into the classroom to inspire and prepare the next generation of scholars and practitioners.
