Barry University and Seminole State College of Florida have officially entered into a landmark Transfer Articulation Agreement that enhances access, opportunity, and academic excellence for students pursuing a four-year degree. The agreement was celebrated at a recent signing ceremony held at Seminole State, where leaders from both institutions gathered to affirm a shared commitment to student achievement.
This collaboration creates a clear, supportive pathway for Seminole State students earning an Associate of Arts degree to seamlessly transition to Barry University. Two primary routes are now available:
- Honors to Honors: Graduates of the Grindle Honors Institute at Seminole State will be directly admitted into Barry University’s Honors Program, joining a vibrant academic community that champions intellectual growth, leadership, and social impact.
- Direct Admission with GPA 2.8+: Students earning a GPA of 2.8 or higher will gain direct admission into Barry’s College of Arts and Sciences, where they will experience rigorous academics within a mission-driven, supportive environment.
“This agreement represents more than just institutional alignment—it’s a shared vision for what higher education can achieve when we work together,” said Dr. Victor Romano, Barry University Vice Provost, during the ceremony. “It’s not just about credit transfer, it’s about transformation.”

The strong alignment between the two schools’ honors programs ensures that students will find continuity in their pursuit of academic excellence. Barry University’s Honors Program offers a holistic educational experience, building on the foundation students have already established at Seminole State.
At its core, the agreement reflects a student-centered mission: to remove barriers, expand access, and support every learner’s educational journey. Both institutions are dedicated to building bridges that empower students to grow, lead, and succeed.
