For the fourth year in a row, the Barry University, Andreas School of Business & Public Administration (ASB&PA) Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) Team has secured a spot in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, State of Florida Finals!
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an elite, global competition that brings together more than 1,000 university teams from over 100 countries to showcase their financial analysis skills. Competing teams first submit rigorous 40+ page equity research and valuation reports on designated companies, which are then evaluated by a panel of financial experts. Only the best reports advance, earning the opportunity to present their research before industry judges in the state-level finals.
While most of Barry University will be enjoying Spring Break this Saturday, March 1, 2025, the SMIF CFA Research Challenge Team will be laser-focused on delivering their oral presentation at the State of Florida Finals, hosted by the University of Miami. They will face off against top-tier competitors, including teams from the University of Florida, Florida State University, the University of Miami, and Stetson University, among others.
With so many universities in Florida entering multiple teams, the state has become its competitive sub-region within the Research Challenge—an indication of just how intense the competition has become.
