A record-breaking number of undergraduate students kicked off the 2024 fall semester. As one of the leading universities in the nation for promoting social mobility, this achievement marks a significant milestone in our mission of preparing students for the future workforce through more than 100 degree programs that provide students with the tools and real-world experience that transform concepts into impact.
“These record enrollment numbers come after a highly successful and productive year across campus and disciplines,” said Mike Allen, PhD, President at Barry University. “We are particularly excited to welcome students who bring such a rich diversity of backgrounds and experiences, further enriching the vibrant community here at Barry University.”
This fall, the student body is comprised of:
- More than 800 undergraduate students, a 10% increase from last year,
- 12% international students representing 38 different countries
- 40% out of state students, including New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
- Nearly 7,000 total students, including those in dual enrollment, undergraduate and graduate programs
- 25 intercollegiate varsity, junior varsity and club sports teams
- 28 student organizations, including 16 clubs and 5 leadership councils
Further accentuating the demand for a Barry University education, the Miami Shores campus residential housing is at capacity, with a growing waitlist of those seeking a full college experience.
“Demand for Barry education remains higher than ever in recent years,” said Julie Isha, Vice President for Enrollment, Engagement and Outreach at Barry University. “We’re incredibly proud of the experiential and service-learning opportunities we provide students while we respond to market conditions and address critical societal needs. Our efforts to assist parents and students with the new FAFSA program is one aspect of the critical work our team is doing to support student success and contribute to the more than $10 million in scholarships awarded to this fall’s class.”
